Within the SAVE ENERGY project, five large-scale pilots are implemented in the public buildings of the pilot cities – Helsinki, Finland; Lulea, Sweden; Manchester, UK; Leiden, Netherlands; and Lisbon, Portugal – to test, benchmark, validate and stimulate new strategies and actions to the wider uptake of energy-efficient behaviours
The pilot implementation will follow the Living Lab methodology, involving large communities of motivated citizens co-creating ideas, decisions and recommendations in the open innovation environment of SAVE ENERGY.

The five pilots will be fitted with sensors, metering and control devices acting upon the electrical appliances. The impact of serious game and real time information on the energy consumption will achieve the user behaviour transformation leading to significant and sustainable energy savings.
